Chef by Request

If I could geve every new CFer one gift it would be a personal chef to cook every meal of everyday in a Zone/Paleo fashion for them. This is the one thing that would absolutely guarantee success in all of their fitness goals. In the past couple years I have seen trucks driving by for the business Zone Seattle.com. I was always interested in this business and how it worked and what it costs. Today I received an email from a company called Chef by Request advertising Zone food delivered to your door. I gave them a call and got more info. I found out that they recently bought out Zone Seattle.com. The phone was answered by a friendly gal named Jen who answered all my questions in a very non-pressure type of manner. Here is what I found out. All their food is made fresh the night before delivered 5 times per week to your doorstep at 6 AM. They don’t knock or ring so if you are a late riser it won’t affect your beauty sleep. Your bag for each day includes 3 meals and 2 snacks fit to exacting Zone standards (you can actually request other macro nutrient ratios and they will accomodate, but as performance driven CFers why would you want anything but a Zone ratio or Zone plus extra fat for a maintenance standard?). They also have a CrossFit tailored program that includes only Paeo compliant foods in Zone proportions. All of the food is made at a local kitchen using local products. The cost is $42.50 per day for one person and $38.25 per person per day for a couple. That is about $1275 per month for the single person. I know, not real cheap, but it is quite a service. A more reasonable way to approach it my be to go with 4 days per week for $680 per month for one person. The program can be tailor made to your needs. So…if one had only a concern for health and fitness and couldn’t get their nutrition in line I would put them on the full packaged deal to guarantee success until they hit ideal body composition and performance and then tailor it to 2x to 5x fat until body composition and performance were ideal. May or may not be doable for you, but what an amazing option. Anyway, just wanted to let you know about a cool new company in the area that has embraced th CrossFit community.

I just happened to just start this service this week and let me tell you it is awesome!! The food is great and for the first time in my memory I’m not starving all the time and my energy stays the same throughout the day and definitely high through wods. Yes, its not cheap but so far very worth it.
Hope everyone at CrossFit Snohomish is doing great. I miss you guys!
Summer, our long lost double under queen. Great to hear from you. First things first. I am up to 140 consecutive double unders. Can you hang with that? Just kidding. Thanks for the input on the food. It sounds awesome. Hope all is well. Keep in touch.

The last time I did double unders just to see how many I could do I got up to 84…so looks like I have quite a bit of work to do!!
18:47 – sub’d jumping muscle-ups and went up to the as rx’d weight on the hang power cleans! Last time I did this workout in 21:53 with jumping muscle-ups and 115lbs hang power cleans.
