Meet Marilee

This is Marilee. She is in her 60s. She is the mother of my good friend Dan Holmen owner of CrossFit Redmond (who by the way has just signed a lease on a new box! Hooray CFR!). Dan introduced his mother to CrossFit a couple of years ago. Prior to that Marilee noticed her functional capacity dwindling. One notable decline was that she was having trouble reaching up to wash her hair. The above picture (courtesy of CrossFit Redmond) was taken at FGB4 at SnoRidge CrossFit this past weekend. I would say the functional capacity of her shoulders has improved.

I’m super proud of mom! 60 pounds lighter, not Type 2 anymore, no hypertension, no high triglycerides, no high LDL and a max Deadlift of 216 pounds. That wasn’t the case 2 years ago. Last week her doctor declared her a success story.
Old is a state of mind.
CrossFit and Paleo works, she’s proof.
Jeff and Dan… you guys are the best. Thanks for posting her stories. WAY TO GO MARILEE!!! I LOVE this picture. Dan has some other great pictures of Marilee doing FGBIV on his site as well.
4 rounds: 36:52 (5:36 PR from my last time of 42:28 for 4 rounds!)
