No those aren’t Turds

This is an evening snack of mine at work the other day. This is a classic example of what I call a, “Food is Fuel” meal. Nothing else around and I gotta get that evening snack in before bed. So what do we have here for this delightful delicacy. To begin with you gotta have some protein to help rebuild those damaged muscle fibers from yesterday’s WOD (crossfit.com recommends .7-1 gram per pound of lean body mass per day in case you were wondering). Here are some teriyaki beef strips donated to the station from the assisted living place down the road. Delicious except for the lack of two ingredients. Flavor and moisture. BUT!, they fit the bill much closer than the Snicker bar calling my name from the candy clutch across the room. Now I need some carbs and fat. I had a left over apple from the food I had packed. Perfect. Some peanut butter and viola! a perfect snack…bummer no peanut butter. Left over whip cream from dinner still in the fridge just starting to separate. Outstanding. Apples and cream. That time honored traditional combo paired nicely with those teriyaki beef strips that are now stuck in a huge dry lump halfway down my throat! Food is fuel baby. Treat is as such!
