The Clean in Pictures
The First Pull: Essentially, a deadlift that puts you in position to jump.
The Second Pull: A forceful jump against the bar.
The Third Pull: Pulling yourself under the bar.
Receive the bar in the front squat.
Notice the similarities between the snatch pictures the other day and the clean pictures today.

16:14, it’s so weird to write it in the am times.
16:01
Got stuck on the first 50 and took awhile to get through those.
My fastest time about 9 months ago was 15:39, but with that was using what I would describe as a sort of hybrid of tuck jump and a double-under. About 6 months ago I did it in 18:39 with more reasonable double-unders, so this was deifinitely an improvement if not a PR.
Congrats to Brad & Casey for blasting through this WOD at high speed. Very impressive work.
Rx’d: 7:40 (2:57 faster than last time!)
Brad and I were racing and it was neck-and-neck for a while, but he ended up pulling ahead and beating me by 16 seconds. Nice work Brad!
12:27, subbed air squats for DU’s
(achilles not ready yet, week or two more)
Overestimated the WOD and paced too slow the first round.
Marg was awesome with determination to finish it.
I hate running, especially up hills. Jeff suggested I run up the hill near my house. I walked to the bottom and ran up as he suggested.
The Aspen hill!
12:37 (No Laughing)
1 k (1.07 ) from bottom of hill to house
400 foot elevation change
14% grade from bottom to top of hill (375 ft elevation change-795 meters or 2608 ft)
It was about 80 outside and black was a bad choice for running gear as it was a rare sunny day in Marysville. I kept hydrated and was glad I got out for the run.
BBQ at my house sometime for a “Field Trip WOD”
Are you gonna make us do the hill? It sounds horrible!
Good work Glenn, that hill sounds brutal! Running on a flat surface should be easy after that.
This was my first attempt at “Annie”and it only took me 7 months to keep up with Casey on the double unders. Now I have to go find a big hill to keep up with Glenn. Good job!
Glenn,
you did it! Way to go. I have seen that hill. It is no joke peeps! Definite field trip. Especially if we get to eat some smokey goodness after!
Game on! In truth I was only able to run about the first 150 meters and had to walk the rest of the hill, once it leveled off I started running again. Do something, write it down and improve on it next time. Smokey goodness will be part of the field trip.
