I guess this is my new stock pancake photo, it appears my pancakes disappear before I can take pics of them! This week’s pancake recipe is just alright. My all-time fave coconut flour pancake is this one. However, running low on eggs I went with the Primal Blueprint one. To me it’s a little flat, there’s [...]

Considering Shawn completed our gym’s first rx’d Eva, I thought we need to also praise his chicken. You may remember this recipe from the real foods cookoff. Chicken wrapped in bacon– how can you go wrong? It’s a keeper! Ingredients free range chicken pieces (I used 12 thighs without a bone or skin) 1/2 cup [...]

Smoothies were brought up a lot once we heard about the Vale Family blender of all blenders. I tried a few myself, here’s a few I really like. The base is from The Paleo Diet Cookbook. Base 8 oz brewed, chilled herbal tea of your choice 1 scoop plain egg white protein powder (after searching [...]

I have this weird obsession with the “what’s new” section at Trader Joes. I wistfully stare at each shelf holding seasonal candies, the latest coffee/chocolate mixture, all the new cereal bars, and even their new flours. Being a sucka, this has gotten me into trouble in the past when I found a peanut flour there [...]

Here’s one thing I’m obsessed with this week (and for once it’s not Elana, I hope she doesn’t miss me): It’s so rich and tasty it’s a great alternative to the regular version of my old favorite drink. I ran across this recipe on Health-Bent and have toyed with the amounts of ingredients until my [...]

I have had a draft of this recipe sitting around for four months because I couldn’t figure out these dumplings! The first time I tried they simply melted in my soup. Now, they’re all good! In fact, I’m giving you two different types of dumplings in case you don’t care for anything coconutty (Mags). This [...]

Hey, hey! This is a yummy dessert that was passed down to me by our Head Honcho. Lets get real, the man knows his Paleo desserts! Ingredients 2 avocados 1 Tbs chocolate cocoa 1 – 2 Tbs honey, or more to taste 1 banana (completely optional) Mash all ingredients together, I used a food processor. [...]

Did you know the terms broth and stock mean different things? Stock is made of bones, whereas broth is usually made out of the meatier parts of the carcass. Stock can be substituted in for cream or butter needed in a recipe, and it’s usually fattier than broth. This is what we’re talking about today. [...]

This is my first Thanksgiving preparing paleo and whole foods recipes! I’ve been testing and testing and testing and it’s been fun. I never would have thought you could make gravy without a roux, but Elana did. Just thinking about that concept makes my jaw hit the ground. But it’s true, no flour is used [...]

(Super lame picture, but still blog worthy recipe) If you’re like me, you’re starting your Thanksgiving meal planning. Here’s a great alternative to the regular mashed potatoes. 1 head (1 3/4 pounds) cauliflower, stem and tough stalks trimmed, florets roughly chopped 1 cup homemade chicken stock 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, softened coarse salt and pepper [...]
